1 Introduction
In actuality, Schriskoope is one of the largest European chicken processing companies based in Holland. In spite of its leading position in the market, the company is currently facing considerable problems because of the growing competition and imperfectness of existing supply chain used by the company. The company needs to improve its supply chain management consistently to improve its competitive position and marketing performance. At the moment, the company faces substantial difficulties with retaining customers because the competition in the market grows, whereas the quality of products and services delivered by Schriskoope to its customers is relatively low compared to its major rivals. In such a situation, the company has to enhance consistently its supply chain management. More specifically, the company has to improve the quality of its products and services; to enhance supply chains; to decrease costs spent on the supply of products from suppliers to the company and from the company to customers; and to eliminate third parties from the supply chain. In this regard, the company needs to measure its supply chain management and its effectiveness and introduce new strategies that can help to improve its supply chain management, such as just-in-time management, direct supply chains, and the use of new technologies, such as ITC, to communicate effectively with Polish farmers, who supply chicken to the production facilities of Schriskoope in Holland. These measures can be effective but the company still has to monitor their implementation to track their effectiveness and introduce changes in its supply chain management if necessary.
